The Person

  • Academic Qualifications    
    • Degree in Insurance or Business Management or equivalent.
  • Work Experience    
    • Min 1O years in Insurance and/or Physical Risk Management.
  • Knowledge    
    • Insurance knowledge both Motor and Non-Motor as well as life insurance and risk management.
  • Skills 
    • Good Communication skills,   Problem solving skills, Proactive, Professionalism, Task orientation, Computer Literate and Inter personal skills.    

The Job

  1.  
    • Organizing, planning and implementing the Group Insurance Division strategy to align with UMW's Group vision, mission and values.
    • Negotiating for competitive rates, better terms and conditions with optimum coverage and at the most economical costs for group premium savings.
    • Placement of Group Insurance Coverage with insurance brokers local and abroad.
  2.  
    • Establishing the Insurance Master Risk Profile for UMW Non-Motor group for adequacy of coverage and better claim management. 
    • Analyzing statistical data on UMW Group claims and construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability for group benefits.
    • Updating the Insurance Management System (IMS) and to capture the group risk profile for risk analysis and management.
  3.  
    • Ensuring GID & K Insurance Sdn Bhd comply with the SLA and to ensure minimal operational issues.   
    • Ensuring the success of the Bumiputera Vendor Development Program (BVDP) between K Insurance Sdn Bhd and UMW Group.
  4.  
    • Organizing risk surveys for better risk assessment and risk mitigation with the assistance of Insurance companies and brokers.
    • Focusing on value creation to the group for excellent customer service that complies with best professional practice and regulatory requirements, productivity and continuous improvement.    
  5.  
    • Preparing periodical reports, business plan and executing all matters affecting operational, implementation and to comply with all instructions from Executive Director Group Management Service.
    • Providing advice and information on current market trends for insurance industry to management and the group.
    • Reviewing performance and personal development of all staff and maintaining the staff engagement at GID.    
  6. Coordinating and administering the Business Continuity Management (BCM) as Business Continuity Leaders (BCL) for GID and Damage Assessment Team Chairman for UMW Corporation
