The Person

  • Degree qualification in Accounting, Law, Finance, Insurance or a related field. 
  • Recognized professional certification in IT, Audit, Finance, Law, Risk Management, Integrity or a related field.
  • Accreditation from local/international Risk Management, Insurance or Compliance institute is preferable.
  • 0 – 8 years of working experience in legal, risk or a related field.
  • Proven experience with risk management practices, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and project management.

The Job

  • Risk Management
    Support the Risk Management Lead by providing advisory services to the UMW Division. Conduct research, analyze emerging risks and market trends, and benchmark with international standards and industry best practices to enhance risk strategies.

  • Compliance Monitoring
    Assist in monitoring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies to ensure operations remain within legal frameworks.
    Support the development and implementation of compliance programs aligned with SDB Group policies.

  • Business Continuity Support
    Support the implementation and periodic testing of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure the Division’s readiness for operational disruptions. Coordinate regular risk assessments and facilitate updates to the BCP as required.

  • Insurance Management
    Assist with insurance-related tasks including communication with insurance providers and supporting the claims process. Participate in claims investigations and risk engineering surveys to improve coverage and risk mitigation.

  • Training and Awareness
    Support the delivery of training sessions and workshops to promote compliance awareness and integrity culture. Develop training materials and communication tools to educate staff on compliance matters.

  • Reporting and Documentation
    Assist in preparing accurate, timely Risk & Compliance reports for stakeholders. Maintain organized records and ensure proper documentation of all Risk & Compliance activities and processes.
